Development of Fixed and Mobile Integrated Water Mist-Foam Fire Extinguishing System

On November 14, 2015, the Key Laboratory of Fire Emergency Rescue Equipment of the Ministry of Public Security held an acceptance meeting for its open research project "Development of Fixed and Mobile Integrated Water Mist-Foam Fire Extinguishing System" as well as a promotion site meeting for fire science research achievements in Shanghai. Min Yonglin, Director of the Shanghai Institute and Director of the Key Laboratory, attended the meeting and delivered a welcome speech. The meeting invited leaders from the public security fire corps of eight provinces and cities, including Qinghai, Guangdong, Tibet, Tianjin, Sichuan, Beijing, Jiangsu, and Anhui. Special invitations were extended to Deputy Director Li Wenlong of the Certification Supervision Department of the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China, as well as leaders and experts from the Navigation Guarantee Department of the Navy Headquarters, research institutions under China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, and Naval University of Engineering. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Director Yang Yun of the Key Laboratory.

At the acceptance meeting, Jiang Zuguang, General Manager of Wall Technology Co., Ltd., the project undertaking unit, presented the work report on behalf of the project team. Researcher Wang Lijuan, Deputy Leader of the project, presented the technical report on behalf of the team. Seven acceptance experts from universities, research institutes, and fire forces conducted technical inquiries on the project's research. After discussion, the expert panel concluded that the mobile water mist-foam integrated fire extinguishing device developed by the project team can freely switch between single jet, quadruple jet, and water mist modes, offering strong operational maneuverability, convenient filling of extinguishing agents, and simple daily maintenance. The panel also noted that the compact fixed high-pressure water mist-foam integrated fire extinguishing device developed by the team features a high degree of intelligence, with automatic detection and activation of fire suppression. The acceptance expert panel unanimously agreed that the project had passed acceptance and considered the comprehensive level of the project's achievements to be at the leading level in China.

After the acceptance meeting, the attending leaders and experts participated in the promotion site meeting for fire science research achievements held at Wall Technology Co., Ltd. They visited the factory production line, observed live fire extinguishing demonstrations of the electric handheld water mist-foam integrated fire extinguishing device and the fixed foam high-pressure water mist-foam integrated fire extinguishing equipment, and engaged in technical exchanges and discussions.

The "Development of Fixed and Mobile Integrated Water Mist-Foam Fire Extinguishing System" project was the first open research project accepted by the Key Laboratory since its establishment, and the meeting was a complete success. This acceptance meeting fully leveraged the Key Laboratory's platform role in academic exchange and outcome transformation, strengthened the close integration of fire science research and practical firefighting, expanded the scope of collaboration in fire science and technology, and effectively enhanced the Key Laboratory's role as a technological engine.
